Top five resources to help your business be discovered online
)
When searching for a product or service, looking online is more often than not your client's first point of call.
To help you rank in search and ensure potential clients find you, rather than your competitors, we've compiled five of the best online resources to get discovered.
1. Google Places for Business
Getting started on Google Places for Business is completely free, takes all of about five minutes and will help you secure one of those all-important first-page spots on Google search. The listing includes details such as your business address, phone number and trading hours, as well as reviews.
2. Social media
LinkedIn, Facebook and Foursquare are valuable in their own right, and they can even help you get to the top of the SEO ranks. If you're not already there, jump on, start a business page and get active.
3. Specialist directories
Whatever industry you're in, it's likely there's a specialist directory you'll be the perfect fit for. Natural Therapy Pages, The Tradesman Directory and Australian Health Directory, for example, are go-to destinations to search for professionals.
4. Yellow Pages
You're more likely to be using your phone book as a doorstop than for reference, but thankfully the good old Yellow Pages moved with the times and have a fantastic directory online where submitting a listing is completely free.
5. TrueLocal
TrueLocal is one of the most commonly used directory services, and it's completely free to list. It's also worth asking your best clients to leave a review on your listing as the best of them are often featured on TrueLocal's Facebook and Twitter pages.
