Pinterest for businesses

Written on the 20 November 2012 by Snap Marketing

Pinterest may be relatively new on the social media scene, but it has proven extremely popular for both individuals and businesses alike.

Combining social networking and image publishing in one, Pinterest allows users to create multiple themed pinboards where they can virtually pin content that interests them. Whether it's media from around the web or content from your own computer, every item is represented as an image. Pin everything from videos and pictures to discussions and products.

Networking and interactivity

Pinterest encourages users to interact and ultimately gain exposure in numerous ways. You can browse other people's pinboards for inspiration and ideas, including those exploring similar themes to you. You can also "follow" other Pinterest boards, "re-pin" or "like" their content and "mention" other users in your comments.

Business benefits

Of all the social media sites, Pinterest has been shown to convert the most visitors into clients. It's also great for increasing traffic to your website, as you connect with both new and existing clients and passive online shoppers.

Is Pinterest right for my business?

If regular communication with clients through images, graphics, photos or even graphs could help improve your business, Pinterest is well worth considering in your marketing strategy. If you sell products, communicating with audiences visually is easy. If you offer a service, you could pin photos of employees, events and any photographable projects. Why not design and pin some discount vouchers? Think outside the box and have fun with it!
